First Aid

As of the 1st October 2009 the guidelines under the Health & safety (First Aid) regulations have changed.
The main diffrence is the introduction of a new HSE approved one day course called the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) with the original First Aid at Work course (FAW) being reduced to 3 days instead of 4.

The risk rating has also been changed for ease of understanding from low, medium and high risk to just low and high risk.

The old guidence is as follows:

How many First Aiders do you need?

  Lower risk

eg. shops or offices

Medium risk

eg. light engineering/ warehousing
